E Type Jaguar roadster for sale Sold

Sold

In black with black interior and hood.

In striking black with chrome wire wheels  and slim band whitewall tyres, this Series 11 Roadster has been owned and enjoyed by a customer of ours as part of a small collection of Ferraris, Jaguars and Porsches. This car has been his go to machine for weekend fun. It is very good looking but has some minor cosmetic issues that keep it from being too precious to use.

The E type is a UK, matching numbers example that was supplied in Ascot Fawn originally and then changed to Black in 1976 by the second owner according to letter in the file from him. He kept the car until 1985 when it had covered 53,000 miles. It went to a gentleman in Wrexham and the mileage then shot up to 95,000. In 1995 the E type was sold by The E type Centre near Tamworth to an enthusiast who kept it until 2001 and 98,000 miles and a couple of owners later, our customer purchased it in 2008 with 1,700 miles on the speedo. It is now showing just over 5,600 miles.

Over £10,000 has been spent servicing and overhauling the mechanicals and an alloy radiator with twin electric fans has been fitted to help the car cope with modern traffic along with electronic ignition and Spax shock absorbers to the rear. The hood was replaced a couple of years ago. There is also paperwork to show that previous owners cared for the car too.

The Series 11 E type has a 4.2 litre, six cylinder engine with triple SU carburettors and four speed gearbox. The engine sounds healthy and the car can get up to some serious speeds without trying hard.

A really good looking E type that can be used and enjoyed.
