This very pretty Giulia 1600 Sprint was originally supplied new to Sweden in 1962 and acquired in 1964 by a Mr. Nihlmark of Gothenburg who kept it until it was imported in to the UK in 1998. There is a history file for this period with service bills and the Swedish equivalent of MOTs showing that it had covered 128,000 kms when it arrived at these shores.

It lived in Bristol for a couple of years and was re-commissioned and covered about 3,000 kms. The current owner bought the Sprint as his first classic in 2000 and has used and enjoyed it ever since, covering about 30,000 kilometres.

The bodywork was overhauled in 2001 which included bare metalling the lower half of the body, repairing some minor rust issues and a full respray in the original colour, and new seals fitted. The body shop made the comment 'no major rust' on their invoice. This work is documented and photographed.

In 2001 the engine was fully stripped and rebuilt using new pistons, liners, shells, valves and the crankshaft was re-ground. The cylinder head was converted for unleaded petrol and the camshaft was improved. This work is fully invoiced and photographed.

Twin Weber carburettors are fitted, the original twin choke Solex comes with the car, and were completely stripped and rebuilt at vast cost in 2011. There is a custom built airbox arrangement attached to the original air intake. Also in the £3,800 invoice was a full brake rebuild.

The gearbox was next. This was stripped and rebuilt and a new clutch fitted in 2012. In 2016 the gauges were sent away for overhaul (£1,500) and the heater system was rebuilt with a new matrix and blower.

Other work includes new carpets, brake overhauls, restoration to the front panel and one door, wiring loom work, regular servicing and maintenance, the fitting of an alternator and Cibie Halogen headlights, attention to the trim and recovering of the dashboard top and door panels - the list goes. Everything is invoiced and documented.  A quick add up through the extensive history file shows bills totalling in excess of £40,000.

The specification of the Giulia Sprint includes the original 1570cc, twin cam engine, twin Weber carburettors, a five speed manual gearbox, 123 electronic ignition, an alternator, Cibie Halogen headlights and inertia reel seat belts.

The extensive history file includes much documentation from Sweden with MOT certificates and maintenance bills, a folder from the first UK owner and a very large file with photographs and invoices from 2000 to the present and the original handbook.

A rare and strikingly pretty 60's Alfa ready to be used and enjoyed
