BMW Isetta 300 Bubble Car for sale £22,995

In dark maroon with check interior and dark red carpets.

This lovely Isetta Bubble Car once belonged to the Mayoress of Northwich, Cheshire who used it for Civic duties according a newspaper article in the file. She reports that it was a nice contrast with normal Mayoral limousines.

Supplied new in Malvern, Worcester, the original buff Log Book confirms that it stayed in the area until 1969. According a note in the 'British Isetta' handbook, the engine received new inlet and exhaust valves and a de-coke at 23,919 miles. At 32,720 miles the car had steering and suspension work and after not being used for about ten years, it was resprayed, rechromed and serviced at 39,063 miles in 1985. An MOT certificate in June 1988 at 40,917 miles from a garage in Birmingham shows that it hadn't travelled too far up the M5. The Mayoress acquired the car in 2004 and drove it from Birmingham to Northwich (Bloomin' crazy!)

The current speedo reading is 42,695.

In 2015 the Isetta made it's way to the South coast where a long time Classic Car owner restored it with the help of local professionals. The bodywork was stripped and repaired where necessary and the lovely paintwork was applied. The engine received work and a new clutch went in. The rear suspension and gear lever mechanism were rebuilt along wtih the brakes. There are many invoices for components from The Bromley Bubble Car Company during this time and we are told that they know the car.                                                                                           Recent work includes a removal of the cylinder head, new valves, a de-coke, all faces trued up and new gaskets and studs fitted, timing reset, a rebuilt carburettor, a new plug and condensor, an oil change and a grease up throughout. The 295cc engine runs beautifully and the four speed gearbox works as it should. A new stainless bumper has been fitted to the rear.

A luggage rack with baskets is fitted and the Isetta comes with a fold back sunshine roof, a new interior, the original handbook and the Isetta maintenance manual as well as a detailed Isetta Owner's Club instruction book on how to care for the cars. The car still has its orginal registration number.

This fine Isetta 300 that runs very well and is in a gorgeous colour.
